Twin Falls County P&Z Department
The Twin Falls County Planning and Zoning Department is tasked with the responsibility to administer the Comprehensive Plan, and Zoning Ordinances for Twin Falls County, as well as the adopted building codes on properties located in Twin Falls County It is the role of the department to process applications for land divisions, subdivisions, conditional use permits, re-zones, building permits, mechanical permits and other items established by state statute, and County codes.
Recently, a contract was awarded for the updating of the County’s existing comprehensive plan, and Zoning Code. This process allows the public to participate in the development of documents that guide the process of future growth in Twin Falls County. The County is working with the City of Twin Falls to transfer building inspection services of the Area of City Impact around the City. The existing construction process requires the involvement of three different agencies and can be a bit frustrating for a homeowner or contractor in order to schedule through the building process. Both have agreed that the County Building Department should assume the responsibility of the building inspections in this area and will be working towards the transfer in the next few weeks. There is a lot going on here at the County’s Planning and Zoning Department.
